The Covid-19/20 Pandemic was confirmed to have reached Pakistan in February 2020. As of 30 March 2020, the number of confirmed cases in the country is 1625, with 28 recoveries and 20 deaths. Punjab is currently the region with highest number of cases over 500 and Lahore has over 100 cases.
Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has confirmed that over 500 cases of corona virus has been tested positive in Punjab. The death toll from the virus in the province now stands at six. The area of DHA in Lahore has got most of the corona virus cases (over 100) and the entire area is being handled by the rangers now to handle the current lockdown situation.
According to sources, the Punjab Government is planning a complete lockdown due to the abnormal increase in the coronavirus cases in the province. The educational buildings are closed till may 30th. Also the stores, restaurants, petrol pump stations, workshops are to be closed by 8pm in Lahore and in the entire province as well. The Chief Minister and his cabinet are addressing their people daily and asking them to stay inside to fight against this deadly virus. Buzdar stated,
“Our teams are constantly tracking and testing contacts of patients,”
Revealing details of coronavirus cases in the province, CM Buzdar said currently there are over 500 confirmed cases at quarantine facilities in DG Khan, Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Separately, Lahore has 116 patients, Gujrat 55, Gujranwala 11, Jhelum 28, Rawalpindi 30, Multan 2, Faisalabad 9, Mandi Bahauddin 4, Narowal 1, Rahim Yar Khan 2, Vehari 2, Sargodha 2, Attock 1, Bahawalnagar 1, Mianwali 2, Nankana Sahib 2, Khushab 1, Bahawalpur 1 and DG Khan 5.
